Today, a new Board of Directors takes responsibility for the Arizona State Auctioneers Association. I first wish to recognize the efforts of the members of the outgoing Board of Directors and to thank them for their contributions to the ASAA. On a personal note, it is an honor and a privilege that I have the opportunity to lead the incoming board as its President. It is with great enthusiasm and anticipation that I welcome my fellow directors as they join me in office.

Michelangelo once said, “The greatest danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim to low, and achieving our mark.” The ASAA has never suffered from setting its aim too low. Rather, its time honored and impressive list of past Presidents have always aimed high and have never fallen short of achieving their goals. I pledge to do all I can in this next year to provide the type of leadership that will help guide and sustain this association no matter what challenge might present itself.

As the new president, one of my goals is to increase the membership of the association to shore up our income and balance sheet to provide more educational tools. Our membership numbers have seen a decline in recent years, well the educational needs for our members has never been greater. I challenge you to find any non-member auctioneer(s) and encourage him/her to get involved with ASAA. We all benefit from the increase in membership!

Finally, I would like to ask that if you or someone you know is interested in being on the planning committee, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Bill Betthauser
President, 2012-2013
Arizona Auctioneers Association
480-309-4389

Dear Arizona State Auctioneers’ Association Members,

We are seeking officers to get involved in the leadership of our organization and have the desire to continue the growth and improvement of the Arizona State Auctioneer’s Association. We are accepting volunteers, nominations, and/or recommendations for the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and two Board member positions. Some incumbents may exist from the existing board of directors, however, do not let that limit your desire for involvement to be on the board of directors. If you are interested in helping to continue to build and improve this great organization and have the time, energy, and leadership to help, feel free to volunteer or nominate a friend in the auction business. There is no requirement that these leadership positions require one to be an auctioneer, however, needless to state, membership in the organization is required and one must be working in the auction industry within the state of Arizona. We will have an open nomination period for the next 7 days accepting emails for the nominations of those who are willing to help lead our organization. The deadline for the nominations is the end of business on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Following that deadline, the current board of directors we will tally nominations and send an email to the membership announcing the members running for the associated offices each individual has been nominated and/or volunteered for. At that time the elections will be announced and the election will be held with an e mail deadline for votes ending for these new positions the end of business Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Once all votes are tallied an email and phone call will be delivered to the newly elected officials. On Wednesday, March 12, 2012 we will have an open meeting to introduce the new officers and gather as a group and discuss what we all as members would like our organization to be. Please, if you can get involved; if not please participate in this general election as your vote matters.

Thank you for your support in continuing to build Arizona into a great Auction State!

Your current board of directors,

Arizona State Auctioneers Association

–
Regards,

ASAA Director Jason Schneider
